Tori Towns
My work is rooted in the belief that every birthing person deserves to feel safe, seen, and heard, and I strive to create nurturing spaces where they can connect with their inner strength and intuition.
My Journey
My name is Victoria Towns and I welcome you to call me Tori. I am a passionate birth and postpartum educator with a traditional Bengkung belly binding background, doula trained, and yoga certified with an emphasis on prenatal yoga. My journey into birth work ignited from being one of the eldest of twelve siblings and witnessing firsthand the challenges faced by the BIPOC community in accessing essential support during their perinatal and postnatal journeys. It is my mission to empower birthers by educating them about their rights and options, and guiding them to trust and listen to their bodies. I am wholeheartedly committed to enhancing maternal health education and support throughout the prenatal, birth, and postpartum experience. This journey continues to evolve as I strive to make a meaningful impact within the communities I serve. Join me in creating a vibrant, inclusive community where we celebrate knowledge, empowerment, and the beautiful journey of parenthood.

Purpose & Aspiration
My purpose is to transform birth care into a safe, inclusive, and empowering experience for all families. I am dedicated to ensuring that every birthing person, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, or sexual orientation, receives high-quality, culturally-responsive care.
I aspire to create a future where equitable birth services are accessible to all, particularly within the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. By honoring the unique needs of each individual, I envision world where inclusive, compassionate care is the norm, and every family feels supported throughout their birthing journey.
F.A.Q.
What is the difference between a doula and a midwife?
A doula provides emotional, physical, and informational support during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, but they are not medical professionals. A midwife is a trained healthcare provider who can deliver babies, perform medical assessments, and manage the health of the mother and baby during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum.
What does a doula do, and how can they support me during childbirth?
A doula provides emotional, physical, and informational support before, during, and after childbirth. They advocate for your preferences, offer comfort measures, and help create a positive birthing experience.
How can yoga help me during pregnancy and childbirth?
Prenatal yoga helps strengthen and prepare your body for childbirth, improves flexibility, reduce stress, and enhances the mind-body connection, making it a valuable tool for a smoother pregnancy and labor.
What is Bengkung belly binding and what are the benefits?
Bengkung belly binding is a traditional Malaysian practice where a long, woven cloth is wrapped around the abdomen postpartum. It can help support the abdominal muscles and organs, reduce postpartum swelling, improve posture, and promote overall healing.
